Spanish Linguist, Literary Critic and Writer. He was director of Spanish Royal Academy of Language (RAE) from 1992 to 1998 and expert in Spanish Literature of XVI, XVII and XVIII centuries. Among other Awards he obtained Creu de Sant Jordi and Premio Aragón de las Letras. He also was Comandeur dans l'Ordre des Arts et de Lettres in France. He is remembered for his book "El dardo y la Palabra."
