My mother Doris was a highly talented but unrecognized artist having done many oil paintings and pen and ink drawings, mostly notably of Native American life. She also did extensive art design work on a rifle engraving presented to an American President.

Doris was also known as "Firefly" to her Native American friends. Her extensive associations and friendships with other Native Americans led her to be officially adopted into the Narraganset tribe based in Rhode Island.

Daughter to the late Harry L. Jacquelin & Bernice (Wadleigh) Jacquelin. She was a widow, being married to Lee Stempowicz and was mother of an only child; Jean Lee (aka; Gina Lee)- She left behind her daughter, a grand-daughter Jaime Lee & a grandson Jared Matthew. She also left a sister Virginia Limauro of Branford, Ct., and brother the late Gene Jacquelin of Wallingford, Ct.. She was predeceased by 3 brothers; Joseph Jacquelin of Philadelphia, Pa., Lawrence Jacquelin of New Haven, Ct., and half-brother Jack Reynolds, of Pelham, NY.

In accordance with her wishes she was cremated. Her final resting place overlooks the graves of her parents and brother Lawrence. Her death was due to Alzheimers Disease.
