We find an April 9, 1881 emigration record that we identify the Belz family; departing Bremen & Southampton arriving New York on ship Oder with Captain (Undutsch) Undütsch. The ships record lists; Adolph age 46 working as a joiner, Theresa 42, Martha 16, Adolph 13, Emma 7, Agnes 10 months old.

In 1882 Adolph Belz is listed in the Detroit City Directory, working as a carpenter at the P P (Pullman Palace) Car Company and living at 259 Mullett Street.

Daughter Martha marries Casper Jacob Weishaupt on 12 August 1882 in Detroit, Michigan. (FAG #143153125)

In 1884 through 1889, Adolph Belz is listed in the Detroit City Directory, working as a carpenter.
Son, Pvt Adolph Belz enlisted in the US Army at Ft Bayard, New Mexico Territory on Oct 18, 1888. Fighting in Company B, 10th regiment, US infantry, he dies by picket fire at Ft Stanton, Santa Fe, New Mexico Territory on Aug 2, 1890 and was buried Aug 5, 1890 at Ft Stanton. He was later reburied in June of 1896 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery where the record and grave marker photo are posted. (FAG #17482090)

The 1900 census for Dayton City, Dayton Twp., Montgomery County, Ohio records the Belz (spelled BELTZ) family living at 109 Ware Avenue; Adolph working as a carpenter age 65 born Dec 1934 in Germany, Theresa 61 Feb 1839 Germany, son-in-law William Anglert working as a wheelwright age born 22 July 1877 in Ohio, Agnes Anglert 23 Apr 1877 Germany, Irwin Anglert 3 Jan 1897 Ohio.

In 1903 & 1904, Adolph Belz is listed in the Detroit City Directory with wife Theresa.

The 1910 census for Dayton City, Dayton Twp., Montgomery County, Ohio records the Belz family living at 51 Dover Street; Adolph age 75 born in Germany, Theresa 71 Germany.

In 1915 & 1916 & 1917 & 1918 Adolph Belz, no occupation at home, is listed in the Dayton City Directory living with wife Therese.

Both Adolph and Therese die in the same year - 1919.
