Actor. He was an American actor who was best known for his appearances in several Three Stooges shorts, most notably as the hot-tempered drill sergeant in "Boobs In Arms." Born Thomas Richard Potts, he is credited with over 80 films between 1938 and 1942. He was drafted in 1942 and served with the 9th Infantry Regiment of the United States 2nd Infantry Division. He was killed in action during World War II, having reached the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He posthumously received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and other honors.
