First Dean of Exeter Cathedral. Serlo was promoted to Dean of Exeter Cathedral on November 25, 1225 and confirmed on December 2. He was recommended for the job by Bishop Brewer. He had been rector of Colaton Raleigh in East Devon, England. Exeter Cathedral known today as Cathedral Church of Saint Peter in Exeter is an Anglican cathedral. The founding of the cathedral and its dedication was around 1050. Construction continued and the present building was finally completed by 1400.
