Civil War Union Medical Officer. He was appointed as Assistant Surgeon of the 7th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry on August 20, 1862 to fill a vacancy caused by the promotion of Asst. Surgeon Charles B. Jaques. He served with the 7th New Jersey until March 9, 1863, when he was transferred to the 2nd New Jersey Volunteer Infantry to fill another vacancy caused by another promotion (Asst. Surgeon Henry C. Clark to the 3rd New Jersey). Doctor Halsey then served until his honorable muster out on May 31, 1864.Late Surgeon 2, NJ Vol's
