One of 13 Philadelphia firefighters who died in the horrendous Friedlander Leather Remnants factory fire on December 21st and 22nd, 1910. The walls of the factory collapsed on the firefighters. The fire remains the worst death toll in Philadelphia Fire Department history.

No. 21, and the Philadelphia Fire Department Relief Association, Pension Fund, Insurance Patrols, James A. Garfield Club, of the 16th Ward, also Bishop Neumann Council, No. 989, Knights of Columbus, Philadelphia Aerie, No. 42, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and all other societies of which he was a member, are invited to attend the funeral, on Wednesday, at 8.30 A. M., from his late residence, 941 New Market St. High Requiem Mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at 10 A. M."
His parents were William W. Entwistle, born in England, and Susan McCullough, born in Ireland.
