Dorothy L. (Sabol) Iacono Devoted wife, mother and grandmother Dorothy L. (Sabol) Iacono, age 87, died June 28, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy graduated in 1943 from Notre Dame Girl's High School in Moylan and was employed as a secretary for Pure Oil and Sinclair Oil Co. Dorothy was instrumental in establishing Brookside Clinical Laboratory in 1966. Mrs. Iacono has resided in Glen Mills for the last 37 years and also enjoyed sharing her home in Stone Harbor, NJ with family and friends. A devout Catholic, Dorothy was an extremely active parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Glen Mills, where she cleaned the old church, laundered church linens for more than 26 years, contributed to the crucifix above the altar and the statue of St. Joseph, and annually donated the altar flowers at Easter and poinsettias at Christmas. Her hobbies included: playing bridge, water exercise, gardening, quilting, knitting and needle work. Dorothy loved to laugh and her greatest enjoyment in life was her family and attending all of her children and grandchildren's activities. She was the daughter of the late William J. and Marie (Missar) Sabol, Sr. Survivors: Beloved husband and best friend of 53 years John J. Iacono; daughters Michele M. Iacono and Annette Iacono of Glen Mills; sisters Rita Fritz (Gerald), Marie Hackstie, and Clare Matlack (Henry); brother William J. Sabol Jr.; granddaughters Natalie Trento (Tommaso) and Christina Hess; cousins Sister Marcella Missar, S.N.D. and Paul Missar; many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass Tuesday at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA 19342 Burial St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 7 to 9 PM at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home Ltd., 5980 Chichester Ave, Aston and Tuesday from 9:15 to 10:15 AM at the church. Memorial Donations: St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
