She was a sweet grandmother and a true Southern Lady.

"Mother"

Our Mother had a long and useful life.
Best loved of both kin and friend was she.
Hearing keen, vision less, arthritic in the knee.
Clear of mind, memory as a sharpened knife.

Childhood with Mae and Cecil dearest kin.
Young mother home to do for her offspring mob.
Mature becomes a real estated person job.
Elder time her beloved friendships mende.

Through out her life she cared how others felt.
Loose strands of family patterns drawn up tight.
Careful thoughts bring happy memories bright, and
Sad reminiscence as in final church we knelt.

This was a life we're happy to behold.
May her blessing stay as future times unfold.

-Composed by her eldest son Dr. Ripley Harold Hunter Jr.(1995)
