GAMBELLMr. Charles E. Gambell, 90, died Nov. 26, 2003, in Conyers. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at Conyers First United Methodist Church. The body will lie in state at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Randy Byrd will officiate. The family will receive friends today from 3-7 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his name to the Maxwell Class at Conyers First United Methodist Church or Rockdale Hospital Charitable Foundation.Born in Pinson, Tenn., april 2, 1913, Mr. Gambell received an engineering degree from the University of Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Army, Signal Corps, during World War II. He retired from General Electric Co. after 27 years of service. He lived in Rockdale County for 29 years and was a member of Conyers First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Christine Gambell; daughter, Charlotte Gellert; sons, Ken Gambell and Bill Gambell, all of Conyers, Tom Gambell and his wife, Linda, of Oakland, Calif.; stepson, Johnny Bateman and his wife, Jean, of Conyers; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two nieces; and one nephew.
