KILLED IN ACTION - T. Sgt. Chester D. Conrad, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Conrad, 709 E. Kibby-st, was killed in action May 7 in Germany, the War department recently informed his parents. A graduate of South high schoo, Sgt. Conrad entered the service in October, 1943, training at Keesler Field, Miss., and went overseas last December. Penhorwod will officiate with burial in Memorial Park cemetery. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Conrad, 709 E. Kibby-st., Sgt. Conrad was a B-24 bomber radio operator. He entered service in November, 1943. He was graduated from South high school and was a member of the football, basketball and golf teams. Surviving, besides his parents, are three brothers, Virgil, 809 N. Charles-st, Victor and Arlo, both at home; two sisters, Mrs. Amber Devier, at home, and Mrs. Maxine Hennon, 567 Harrison-av.
