KILLED IN ACTION - T. Sgt. Chester D. Conrad, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Conrad, 709 E. Kibby-st, was killed in action May 7 in Germany, the War department recently informed his parents. A graduate of South high schoo, Sgt. Conrad entered the service in October, 1943, training at Keesler Field, Miss., and went overseas last December. A prayer service for T. Sgt. Chester D. Conrad, 20, who was killed May 7, 1945, near Cologne, Germany, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Siferd and Son funeral home. The Rev. E. J. Penhorwod will officiate with burial in Memorial Park cemetery. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Conrad, 709 E. Kibby-st., Sgt. Conrad was a B-24 bomber radio operator. He entered service in November, 1943. He was graduated from South high school and was a member of the football, basketball and golf teams. Surviving, besides his parents, are three brothers, Virgil, 809 N. Charles-st, Victor and Arlo, both at home; two sisters, Mrs. Amber Devier, at home, and Mrs. Maxine Hennon, 567 Harrison-av.
