Anders Fredrik Carlsson was born in 1849 in Sweden. He came to America in 1865. He married Emma Cornell about 1877. He is the father of Jennie, Oscar F., Carl E. "Sam", Earl, Edgar, and Ida Carlson.

Niobe man had been spending Sunday with friends near Watts Flats, and was evidently using Erie tracks as a public highway to reach his home—Coroner B.F. Illston called and will investigate the case.
Coroner B. F. Illston was called early this morning to Watts Flats, where the mangled remains of a man had been found beside the Erie railroad tracks. Dr. Illston learned that the remains had been identified as those of a Niobe resident named Andrew Carlson. He authorized Justice of the Peace Arthur L. Richardson of Watts Flats to investigate, and permit the removal of the remains, and issue the necessary death certificate. Coroner Illston will make a further investigation.

Watts Flats, Feb. 19, The remains of Andrew Carlson of Niobe were found about 7:40 this morning beside the Erie railroad tracks a half mile west of Watts Flats station, by section men going out to work. Coroner B.F. Illston, and Justice of the Peace Arthur L. Richardson were notified, and Mr. Richardson made an investigation.
The remains were identified by several persons who knew Mr. Carlson. It was learned that he left Niobe Sunday to visit friends near Watts Flats, and that he had been in the habit of walking on the tracks frequently between the two villages. It was not learned what train hit him, but it was evident that he had been struck and hurled from the track.
Mr. Carlson was a well known resident of Niobe. He lived with his daughter, Mrs. Ida Ballard at that place, and was about 67 or 68 years old. His wife has been dead for some years, and he is survived by four sons and the daughter with whom he lived. The sons are Oscar of Elgin, Pa., Carl of Chicago, Earl of Watts Flats, and Edgar, who lives in Niobe, but is not at home at present. One brother living in the west, and perhaps others residing in Sweden survive.
The funeral arrangements will not be made until the son in Chicago can be heard from.

The bearers were Oscar, Earl, Carl and Edgar Carlson, and Albert Ballard and Glenn Burt. Among the floral tributes was a piece from the Niobe school.
The interment was at Niobe. Those from away were Oscar Carlson, Elgin, Pa.; Carl Carlson of Chicago; Oscar Peterson of Sugar Grove, Pa.; and Glenn Burt of Jamestown.
