Lafayette was the son of Abraham Crowell and Elizabeth 'Betsey' (Wheeler) Crowell. My research shows that he was one of ten children, and falls sixth in the birth order.
His listed occupation on all US censuses is farmer, and it appears that his farm was located in Villenova, NY.
He married his first wife Elsie Hamlin around 1849-1850. The couple had 3 children together, Mary, Frank, and Kate.
Elsie died in 1863 at the young age of 32.
Lafayette then remarried in 1864 to Sylvinia Fox. The couple had 5 children together; Marcus, Merton, George, Glennie, and Emerson. The two were married until his death in 1898.
Lafayette was the brother of my 2nd Great Grandfather, making him my 3rd Great Uncle.
