Son of Charles W. Bowen and JoAnn Vehrs.

Rich was very much liked and respected, by many.

I knew him for 10 years. He always had a smile on his face, and was there to lend a helping hand any time someone needed one. He had a great sense of humor, and was just a joy to be around.

I rent my house from the brothers at the funeral home where Rich was the "caretaker". He's the one who actually rented it to me and anytime something needed to be done, it was Rich who did it. I remember one time he came out to care for my yard. He cut down an old bush and had a lot of debris to throw away. I went out there to help him and he handed me this really large bag. After putting quite a bit in it, I made the comment to him that I had never seen a bag that large. That's when he told me it was a body bag from the funeral home. UGH!! I left him and the bag on their own! I have always been squeamish about those things and he thought that was funny.

He was involved in many things, among them Rich was the Funeral Director for Crete Funeral Home, the President of Crete Lion's, the president of Crete Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Polish American Fair Organization and a member of Beecher Chamber of Commerce. Rich volunteered for many things, including the Catholic War Veteran's Bingo Hall, every Tuesday night. If there was a community function, you would find him there.

Rich touched the lives of so many and we are all blessed, because of it.
