Jennie Lucille Lambert Spiegelberg, loving wife, mother and GoGo, died on January 6, 2014 at St. John's Transitional Care North, Billings, MT. She went to join Harry, faithful forever. She was 91 years old.

Jennie Lucille was born August 10, 1922, in Scoville Township near Lisbon, ND, the daughter of Hugh and Etta (Murray) Lambert. She grew up in Lisbon and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1940. After graduation from Valley City Teacher's College, she moved to the "Wild West" of North Dakota and taught elementary school in Sentinel Butte. There she met her future husband, Harry Walter Spiegelberg, a Sgt. in the U.S. Army, while he was home on furlough in 1943. Two furloughs and many letters later they eloped on December 2, 1944. Jennie joined Harry in Port Townsend, Washington where she taught physical education until the end of WWII.

The young couple returned to Harry's hometown of Beach, ND, where they raised four children and lived for 54 years until moving to Mission Ridge Retirement Community in Billings, MT. Jennie and Harry were married for 62 years until Harry's death in 2007.

While her children were growing up, Jennie was a volunteer Sunday School and Bible school teacher, Bluebird leader and Cub Scout den mother. After her children entered school, she worked part-time as a librarian and later received Teacher's Aide certification through the University of North Dakota. Jennie worked as a teacher's aide at Lincoln Elementary in Beach, where she was particularly skilled at teaching young children to read.

Over the years Jennie and Harry traveled to all 50 states and the British Isles. On their 50th wedding anniversary they visited their 50th state, Hawaii.

While living in Beach, Jennie belonged to the Order of Eastern Star, Congregational Church, Homemakers Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Bridge Club and Tracy Mountain Woodcarvers. In her retirement years, Jennie became a certified EMT and was a member of the Beach Volunteer Ambulance squad. She taught CPR and first aid in Golden Valley and Billings Counties in North Dakota. Jennie loved to golf, wood carve and play cards until she developed macular degeneration. She remained a life-long reader and lover of poetry. Jennie loved wild crocus, the North Dakota Badlands and the drumming circle at Mission Ridge. After moving to Billings, she became a member of Lifeway Baptist Church.

Jennie was the devoted mother of 4 children: Sue Weinreis, Dan Spiegelberg, Sally Krueger and Dave Spiegelberg. Jennie valued higher education and ensured that each of her children obtained a college education.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Calvin, sister Ruth, Ruth's husband Edward Chudley, brother-in-law Donnie Torbenson, and sons-in-law Howard Krueger and Dr. Robert Weinreis. She leaves behind four children, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister Gladys Torbenson and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and shirt-tail relatives.
