Grandma lost her first three children, twin sons at birth and son Jimmy at age 2 who was a "blue baby". Grandma was generous and during the depression she always shared their food with any hungry homeless person who came to their door. Sometimes all they had to share was an egg and cup of coffee. When her husband died she was able to keep the family together and finished raising their 5 children by working in diners.
She was a hard worker and could make a delicious meal out of little food. Grandma was a long time Baptist and lived her faith. She was always an inspiration to me and those who met her.
Died too young of metastatic liver cancer.
