Frank passed away Friday afternoon at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was the son of Frank, Sr. and Nicolina Camilli Panei.

In 1958, Frank began working as a truck driver for the City of Butler Street Department, operating the street sweeper on the midnight shift for more than twenty years.
He also drove a salt truck during the winter. When the Street and Parks Departments were combined, he became the superintendent of the Public Works Department, retiring after 33 years in 1991.

He was a veteran of the US Navy in World War II, serving in the American campaign and the Asiatic-Pacific campaign.

He was a lifelong member of St. Michael the Archangel parish, and the K of C - St. Michael's Golf League.

Frank was friendly and easy going, honest and dependable. He always worked to take care of his family. He loved golfing and fishing, and enjoyed watching all kinds of football.

He smoked a pipe off and on, and the distant sound of him tapping it out on a glass ashtray was heard no matter where you were in the house.

Surviving are his wife, Lois, whom he married Aug. 26, 1950; two sons, Gordon and Vernon (Stacey) Panei; and three daughters, Francine (Dave) Keefer, Fontaine (Scott) Day, and Nadine (Ty) Young.
Also surviving are a brother, George Panei of Butler; and nine grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Hilda Vicari and Mary Rhodaberger; six brothers, Paul Teatini, Vincent Panei Sr., Henry Panei, Lawrence Panei, Albert Panei, Rudolph Panei, and an infant sibling; and his grandson, Trevor Nicholas Young.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. James Dolan officiating.

Entombment at Saint Michael Cemetery Mausoleum.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery.

~♱~ღ~ WHEN YOU REMEMBER ~♱~ღ~

When you remember me, it means that you have carried something of who I am with you, that I have left some mark of who I am on who you are.
It means that you can summon me back to your mind even though countless years and miles may stand between us.
It means that if we meet again, you will know me.
It means that even after I die, you can still see my face and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart.
For as long as you remember me, I am never entirely lost.
