Some people pass through life and you never remember them. Others come along and your life is never the same. Such was the life of Nathan Peurifoy. He never met a stranger, enjoying new adventures, and left a trail of friends everywhere he went.
Nathan Peurifoy was the son of Robert and Virginia Peurifoy and the brother to Rebekah Peurifoy. He was a man full of life, love of laughter and friends to everyone. He was a dedicated outdoorsman who loved to Hike, Mountain Bike, ride his motorcycle and clown around. He love to work out and would show off by standing on his hands. Nathan was a 2007 graduate of Watauga High School in Boone, North Carolina.. He had attended NASCAR Tech in Mooresville, NC and was a student at Haywood Tech in Waynesville, NC where he was majoring in Forestry. He enjoyed his Nissan 300 ZX car which he was in the processing of restoring. He was an excellent mechanic and good at working with his hands. He could rebuild a car or a computer and not have pieces left over. Nathan was expanding his horizons becoming a nature photographer. Being a PK, Preacher's Kid, he ended up normal though both his parents are in ministry. With his parents he moved around from Advance, to Asheville, to Charlotte and Boone. He lived with his late grandmother Hazel Peurifoy in Concord, while attending school. He had recently moved to Canton, NC so he could work in Asheville and continue School in Waynesville. He was a good hard working kid. He often had two or three jobs while going to school. He could always be counted on to help if someone had a need.
Everywhere he went, he gathered friends. We love our son and he will be missed.
On July 20, 2019, Nathan was joined by his sister Rebekah Ann Peurifoy who died suddenly in Anderson S.C., a town and people she had come to love. Rebekah and Nathan were very close. Now they are with Jesus, celebrating his love.

A Poem by Nathan:

Three Words
Three words that make me Smile,
Three words that make me Happy,
Three words that Saved my Life,
Brought me from despair,
Happiness and joy,
Laughter and Giddiness,
three words that I enjoy,
words that move me turn me and flip me,
Three words that I say time and time again,
words that never get old or lose there
Meaning,
lighting the darkest room,
Heard from the farthest reaches,
Time and space have nothing to bring,
words worth fighting for,
as long as it's true we will never Lose,
words that are said world round,
when I say them to you there is nothing more in life,
holding them close when you are far,
expressing them when you are near,
no distance can take them away from us,
the excitement that I feel when you tell me what they are,
the swell of my heart with even the thought of these words,
words that mean everything to me,
my heart,
my soul,
my mind,
all do to you what my words are,
nothing can change my words,
nothing can get in the way,
nothing at all,
this might not be a rhyme,
but is that such a crime,
just telling you how it is,
that's what I'm doing,
my words,
you know what they are,
you feel them too,
I mean these for Life,
its what got me from my Strife,
i feel them while i hold you,
while i work while i sleep,
as long as i breath i will feel and mean my words,
my words are simple,
my words are true,
they are just,
they are for you,
they are,
I LOVE YOU
