Jerrell "Jerry" E. Roland, the youngest of three sons born to Gaylord and Rhoda (Shepherd) Roland.

On April 1, 1956, Jerry was united in marriage with Jean Webb and to this union two daughters were born. Jerry and Jean have lived in Springfield since 1964.

Jerry served the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Shannon in the early 1950's. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in business. Jerry and Jean were self employed with a variety of businesses, including food concessions at the Ozark Empire and Missouri State Fairs. Jerry accepted the Lord as his Savior at a young age and was a faithful member of Glendale Christian Church, of Springfield.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Jean, of the home; two daughters, Sandy Toner of Springfield and Sally Helwig and husband, Steg, of Nixa, Mo.; three grandchildren, Kelly Toner, Jayna and Zachary Helwig; two brothers, Harold of Houston, Texas, and Kenneth and his wife, Venona, of Gravios Mills, Mo.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2006, in the chapel of ThiemeShadel Funeral Service at Rivermonte, with B.A. Austin officiating.
