He was a son of Donato D. "Leo" (Frate) of Spring Grove, and Virginia Mae (Morris) Frate, who departed this life in 2003.
Darren was employed for 19 years at FCI USA, Inc., in Etters. He was a 1984 graduate of Spring Grove High School. A dedicated and amazing father, Darren's life revolved around his children and family. He enjoyed his spare time spent on his motorcycle. Darren's friends and family will lovingly remember him for his quick wit and constant humor.
He was the loving husband of Lori A. (Kitzmiller) Frate, to whom he was married for four years and surviving, in addition to her and also his father, are his five children, Nicholas A. and Heather A. Frate, both of Spring Grove, and Kylee J., Dane N., and Tianna M. Frate, all of Abbottstown; his brothers, Robert C. Jarrell of Snow Hill, MD, and Donato D. Frate, Jr., of Baltimore; and his two sisters, Donna M. Wacker of Parkton, MD, and Dina M. Emm of West Chester.
Interment was in St. David's (Sherman's) Union Cemetery.
