My Pretty Mother-In-Law. Someone I was happy to call Mom. She was pretty, loving, kind, and she loved her family. Widowed at a young age, and left to raise 5 children, she did a terrific job. She worked as an Emergency Ward Secretary at the local hospital. I remember going with my first husband to visit her there. She loved to read and she had a wonderful collection of books. She gave me many special books that I now treasure. On Saturdays we would all watch the programs on PBS and Mom would buy the Sunday Chicago Tribune and the Sunday Chicago Sun Times. She was a good cook and I enjoyed many meals at her home. I always felt like I was a part of the family and her home was just like another home for me. She loved animals and had many cats and dogs during my relationship with her. She was so excited on my 22nd Birthday when her son and I came to tell her we had gotten engaged after almost 7 years of dating. How happy she was, I remember she was standing in the kitchen. I can still see her smile that day. Even after we divorced I still considered her my mother in law, and still called her mom. She was a very devout Catholic, and I believe she is with God, the angels, her husband and all her loved ones before her...Miss her terribly, just as her children, Patrick, Michael, Kathleen, Margaret and James, grandchildren Joy, Michael, Amanda, Patricia, Kathleen, Mary, John, Meaghan, James, Christopher, Shannen, Brandon, Alexander and great grandchildren, Desirae, Timothy, Jacob, Justin, Kurt, Kennedy, Debbie, Ariana, and Austin do. She loved collecting bells, playing cards, and birds esp. cardinals.
