Addy was born Sept. 1 2014 in Vallejo California to Andrew and Sarah Aldana. She was a small, cute as button little thing. She weighed 5 pds 3 oz. Addy struggled to thrive and gain weight. In July after many visits to doctors and many specialists she was sent to Children's Hospital of San Francisco when she was diagnosed with Zellweger's Syndrome.(Zellweger Syndrome involves neurological deficiency, lose of muscle tone, fragile bones, hearing loss, seizures, liver and kidney problems.Most children born with this illness do not live past 6 months. It is a genetic illness.) Addy was diagnosed at the age of 10 months. From the time she was diagnosed all effort and energy was given to give her the exact care and comfort she needed and deserved. Sarah, Andrew and the whole family made sure Addy experienced and saw as much as possible in her short life.She made many trips. Sarah said although Addy was not to have a long life, she wanted her to experience a full life. She went to the beach, she dressed up for halloween.... Pictures were taken with as many family and friends who came to visit or who the family took her to visit. Her first and only birthday was a big blow out barbque with friends and family. And Addy was a living fashion plate. A new and different outfit everyday. Pictures taken of her in every outfit. There were weekly Addy celebrations. Although Addy was never able to accomplish the "normal" milestones of a child her age, hold up her head, roll over, talk, etc.... she did have a way to make you know she had the attention of the room. She had a chatter as her mom would call it. It was her own little language. Her way of letting people know she was listening to them and was going to respond her way. Although she enjoyed everyone who came to visit her, Addy had her favorites. Her Papa Jim was one such person. She was mesmerized by his soothing baritone voice. As was evident of the amount of people who attended Addy's memorial she made an impact on a lot of people in her 16 months of life. As it was stated at her memorial Addy had the perfect middle name, Heart. She certainly got into everyone's heart whom she met.
