Emile was born to Antionette Deschenes and Homer Letourneau in Jaffrey, New Hampshire on October 3, 1922. He was a Corporal in the Army of the United States and was honorably discharged on February 16, 1946. He worked for the Clyatt family in Pompano Beach for many years before opening his own station.

All of these things define what he did, not who he was. Emile, whose nickname was Slim, was the type of person that everyone remembered. He paid special attention to every woman to make her feel taken care of, no matter who they were. He was friends with every man, no matter their upbringing or background. He was silly and he was compassionate. Emile and his wife, Mary Kathleen Story, were married for a long 51 years when he passed in 2005.

There is not one person that will not remember this man if they ever came into contact with him. I know I won't. My grandfather and I had a very special bond, and he will never be out my heart or my thoughts. He took care of his family and was even a grandfather figure to my significant other who had not experienced the love of a grandfather. He was a very special man and will be missed by many many people.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Lou.
