My Great Grandma -

GIZELLA MARY KULCSAR was born 03 May 1883 in Ugod Village, Veszprem Megye, Hungary and died 23 Dec 1981 in Lansing, Michigan. She married VIKTOR JOSEPH TOROK Aug 1904 in Ugod, Hungary, son of FARANCE TOROK and MARIA JAKI. He was born 25 Dec 1881 in Csot, Vesprem Megye, Hungary and died 23 Feb 1931 in Clinton County, Fowler, Michigan.

Gizella's parents are MIHALY "MICHAEL" KULCSAR & BORBALA "BARBARA" LAKOS both born in Hungary. Gizella had two brothers, Emery & Paul KULSCAR.

Ugod is a village in Veszprém County (Megye = County) in Hungary near to Pápa town (16 km. to east) on the Little Hungarian Plains. The village has got 1.660 inhabitants (1990 census) nearly all of them are Hungarians. One of the Official Ethnic Minorities of Hungary has got ethnic council in the village - The Gipsy
The first mention of the village is from 1332. Between 1527 and 1658 it was a town. From this period is the first known seal came. In the village there is a Baroque Roman Catholic Church (1756-59).
