Elizabeth was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who took pride in her exceptional heritage. She was married to John B. Allison until his death in 1904.

She was a life long member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Methodist church. She loved to sing hymns and recite stories up until her death.

She was only a few short months from her 100th birthday when she met a tragic fate. My 3rd great-grandmother loved smoking her corncob pipe even as an elderly woman. Unfortunately, she fell asleep while smoking and burned to death in bed.

She was a 1st cousin, twice removed of Thomas Jefferson. Elizabeth's grandmother (Nancy Anna "Nannie" Woodson Woodson) was Thomas Jefferson's 1st cousin.

She was also the oldest living descendant of Pocahontas at the time of her death in 1924.

Goodnight, Elizabeth!
