Lambert Going Dies
Suddenly Of Heart
Attack At Corning
Lambert W Going, 42, Corning restaurant operator, died suddenly from heart seizure at his apartment at 11 o'clock last Thursday morning. He had been in ill health for about 19 months.
He was well-known in Pocahontas and Randolph County where he was reared and in Western Clay County where he had been in business since 1944.
Before opening Going's Cafe on U.S. Highway 67, West, in Corning, a few years ago he owned and operated the filling station and tourist court now operated by O. C. Clark Pontiac Company. He was employed by General Motors Corp., of Anderson, Ind., for 15 years prior to moving to Corning.
He was born in Pocahontas on September 23, 1908 the son of the late C. A. Going and Mrs. Sarah Going.
He was married to Miss Sterline Blackwood of Corning August 28 1936 at Pocahontas.
Survivors other than his wife and mother are three sisters, Mrs. Guy Amos of Pocahontas, Mrs. Cumberland Wisner of Memphis and Mrs. L. E. Lane of Elm Store.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Corning where services were held Sunday, April 22nd, at two o'clock with the pastor, Dr. L. B. Golden, conducting, assisted by the Rev. A. W. Harris pastor of the First Methodist Church there.
Burial was in Masonic Cemetery at Pocahontas, with Russell's Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were L. F. Cochran and Bryan McCallen, Corning, and Cletus Price, Menden Pratt, Amos Perrin and Frank Rogers of Pocahontas.

Miss Sterline Blackwood, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Blackwood of Corning, and Lambert Going of Anderson, Ind., were married at Biggers last Thursday, Rev. Wade performing the ceremony. They left Saturday night for Anderson, where they will reside.
Mr. Going is a former resident of Pocahontas and both he and his bride have many friends here who extend their congratulations and best wishes.
