Captain William H. "Billy" Hutchinson, III, of North Charleston, departed this life for eternal rest on the evening of June 18, in the line of duty, while fighting fire for the City of Charleston Fire Department.

He was a son of the Dorothy Kelly Hutchison and the late William H. Hutchinson, Jr.

Billy was member of Pinecrest Baptist Church, a 1977 graduate of Middleton High School, an avid golfer, and a Mason with Hammerton Lodge 332 A.F.M.

Capt. Hutchinson was a 30 year veteran of the City of Charleston Fire Department and also a barber for 29 years at the Williams Barber Shop in Goose Creek, SC.

Surviving in addition to his dear mother and loving wife, Phyllis Sartre Hutchinson; are his precious daughters, the lights of his life, Christina H. Hughes of Goose Creek, Aubree Leigh Hutchinson and Haley Austin Hutchinson both of Charleston, brother, Randall "Randy" K. Hutchinson and wife Elizabeth "Betsy" A. Hutchinson; his precious grandson, Chase K. Hughes; dear niece and nephew, Bright N. Hutchinson and William "Nick" N. Hutchinson all of Charleston.
