Civic Leader, Businessman. Born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, he was one of 11 children born to Aaron and Mathilda (Wilson) Kerry. He arrived in Washington state in 1886 and married Philadelphia native Katherine A. Glen in 1903. He served as the president of Seattle's Olympic Hotel, The Medical Arts Building Company and the Kerry Timber Company. He was active on a number of boards including: the Cornish School of the Arts and the Seattle parks board. In 1927 he donated a parcel of land to the city of Seattle on Queen Anne Hill, which today serves as one of Seattle's most popular viewpoints (Kerry Park) among local photographers and tourists. He suffered a massive heart attack while returning to Seattle from California on a northbound train, and died shortly after being transferred to St. Vincent's Hospital in Portland.
