Jessica was the only child of Greg and Vicki. They moved to Merriam Kansas (from Omaha) in 1983. Jessica attended Shawnee Mission North High School (graduated 1995) and was on the track and dance team. After high school, she worked as a waitress at TGI Fridays and then as a Customer Service/Sales at Cellular One. When Verizon Wireless purchased Cellular One, she worked at Verizon. She suffered from bulimia and anorexia for a dozen years before ending her life by suicide. Jessica was a beautiful person whose smile could light up a room and she never knew a stranger. She was extremely empathetic to others with physical or mental impairments. She is missed by countless friends and family who mourn her short life. Jessica was always loved and will never be forgotten.

My heartfelt thanks to all of you for your words of compassion and sympathy. I appreciate knowing that you are here and will make sure Jessica is never forgotten! Jessica loved Halloween as much as I do, so PLEASE be assured that Halloween tokens are welcome year round!
She was given extra special love from her maternal grandparents, Carroll L. and Ruth Hollings because she was the first grandchild in our family. My Dad became younger when he played with her. I miss those days so very much.

I'll lend you for a little while, a child of mine, God said
For you to love the while he lives and mourn for when he's dead…
It may be six or seven years or forty-two or three
But will you till I call him back, take care of him for me?

In The Arms of An Angel by Sarah McLachlan

Spend all your time waiting
For that second chance
For a break that would make it okay
There's always some reason
To feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day

I need some distraction
Or a beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
Let me be empty
Oh and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight

In the arms of the angel
Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear

You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort here

So tired of the straight line
And everywhere you turn
There's vultures and thieves at your back
The storm keeps on twisting
Keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack

It don't make no difference
Escaping one last time
It's easier to believe
In this sweet madness
Oh this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees

**She was beautiful, but not like those girls in the magazines. She was beautiful for the way she thought. She was beautiful for that sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful for her ability to make other people smile even when she was sad. No, she wasn't beautiful for something as temporary as her looks. She was beautiful, deep down to her soul.
