My great grandfather, Frank was born in Oleszyce, Galicia, Austro-Hungarian Empire, now Oleszyce, Poland. He homesteaded on a quarter section adjoining his father's homestead in the Pheasant Forks district, 2.5 miles west of the present town of Lemberg, Saskatchewan. He immigrated with his parents, Anton and Anna (Petranik) Osiowy and his siblings, arriving at Quebec on May 26, 1897.
He married Maria (Bonk) on August 26, 1902. This marriage produced two sons, Michael and Franciszek prior to Maria's early death on December 17, 1918. Frank remarried on February 11, 1919. He and his second wife, Helen Suwala, raised 6 daughters and 1 son.
