USN HT(DV) Petty Officer 3rd Class. Ted was a proud Navy SEAL. Beloved by many.

Ted was born a blessed gift to Keith and Harley Davis. They cherished and nurtured him encouraging his zest for life. They enabled him to grow and mature in a loving Christian home. He thrived and developed his innate unique personality.

Loving, kind, and tenderhearted on the inside on the outside he was ALL boy. Rough and tumble loving sports and nature and all things associated with it. From the time he was tiny he loved those numbered shirts indicating that as soon as he was able he would be a participant in anything sports related. He grew up being a fierce competitor and dare devil. Never afraid of injury he mastered snow and water skiing, swimming, hunting and many other activities.

He was a dynamo on the football field playing at Parklane Academy and Southwest Mississippi Community College. Determined to win for the team friends say he became a totally different person on the field he was so fierce. Sometimes appearing crazed to attempt the dangerous and risky moves he made all the while being successful :)

Being a Mississippi boy his love of nature gravitated to fishing and hunting. He shot his first deer at the tender age of twelve. Loving the game he hunted he was taught to respect it and give back. As a young man he was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation. A national non-profit conservation and education organization dedicated to conserving wild turkeys and preserving hunting traditions. Turkey became his game of choice and he was a responsible hunter.

Ted entered probably his most daunting challenge when enlisting in the Navy he signed up to become a Navy SEAL during boot camp. Through (the at the time Divefarer Program) Ted excelled and surpassed the necessary exams to bypass Hell Week and entered the SEALs upon graduation. He worked under the command of some of the greatest Master Divers in the Navy. Some of his missions included assisting in submarine lockout diving operations. No easy feat and took near super human abilities while maintaining a positive and upbeat attitude. There, too, he won the utmost respect of his peers and superiors. Not to mention the utter pride of his family and friends.

Upon leaving the Navy he married the love of his life the beautiful Miss Rebekah Alford on July 27, 1996. Ted being as handsome as all get out they made a gorgeous couple. They set about building their life together and made wonderful memories to cherish. They were both overjoyed when in late 2000 they learned they were going to have a baby. Tragically, Ted was killed just months upon learning he was to be a dad. His early death left many things he was in the process of doing unfulfilled and Rebekah with insurmountable grief.

You see, also, right after leaving the military he entered the world of commercial diving. He was a certified commercial dive instructor, but had also chosen to work as an underwater welder for a company that repairs and maintains oil rigs. Through absolutely no fault of his own (he was meticulous with his equipment and following every rule of diving) he was killed in a horrendous accident at work. Everyone's world (of knowing Ted) came to an end that day. Thank God he lives in our hearts and he being a devoted Christian we know he is with his Lord. I find much comfort in that.

Along with his parents, he also leaves behind son, Jack; brothers, Micah and Todd; sister, Claudia, and many extended family members along with many, many friends and people who love him and call him son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle and cousin. He had a world of loved ones and a heart big enough for everyone!
