My grandmother was a big hearted woman who loved her family very much. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother.

I really appreciate her love of the outdoors - I think she imprinted this joy on me as a young child. She loved to camp and fish with my grandpa and dad. She swam in lakes. She would prepare full meals (I'm talking a roast with all the fixins!!) at a campsite or roadside picnic area.

She was an excellent gardener and homemaker and enjoyed entertaining guests, from a couple of close friends to the entire church choir! Everybody appreciated her fine cooking.

My grandmother was active in her church and its choir. She was a lovely soprano and highly respected by her fellow church members.

One of her favorite games was Yahtzee. She would have one or two of her grandchildren spend the night and would play Yahtzee late into the evening with them. Her enthusiasm for the game was infectious and she was hard to beat!

I only remember her with a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eyes. I miss her immensely and think of her often.

She was the daughter of Wilhelm Sattelberg and Augusta Sy.
