Carmela Dell Aquila Scalone was born in New York City to Rocco and Anna Marie Dell Aquila. She married Armenio Scalone in 1904. Carmela raised 10 children during her over 50 years of marriage. The children were: Christopher, Anna, Rocco, John, Gilbert, Daisy, Joseph, Teresa, Odell and Christopher.She resided with her husband in Corona, New York until her death. Her second daughter, Daisy, celebrated her 100th birthday on July 19, 2015.
