Sue Bolick Givens, 86, died Jan. 22, 2009, at Stanley Total Living Center.
She was a native of Gastonia, daughter of the late Elmore Emmitt Bolick Sr. and Mary Nettie Mauney Bolick.
Mrs. Givens was preceded in death by her loving husband, William "Bill" Givens; sister, Nell Bolick; brother, Emmitt Bolick; niece, Fran Johnson.
She is survived by her son, William Ray Givens and wife Frances of Sylva; one brother, Wilson "Soap" Bolick of Gastonia; one sister, Ruth Glenn of Durham; two grandchildren, Tricia Givens Wood and husband Steve of Lincolnton, Melissa Gaile Abernathy and husband Steven of Shelby.
She was a former employee of Carolina Mills of Gastonia before her retirement.
She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church for over 50 years.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Dogwood Section of Gaston Memorial Park with the Rev. Robert Cloninger officiating. Burial will be after the graveside service at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the gravesite after the graveside service.
