Enlisted in Company E, Michigan 4th Infantry-Private Regiment on 20 Jun 1861 at Adrian, Lenawee Co., Michigan. Wounded at the battle of Malvern Hill, Virginia,on July 1,1862 & mustered out on 18 Nov 1862 at Warrenton, Virginia.
