A2C Dennis Paul Wright 1946 - 1966

Dennis Paul Wright was born on April 8, 1946, in Taft, California into a loving family. He attended local schools and graduated from Taft Union High School in 1964. While at TUHS he participated in football, basketball, and track. He was a member of the school's Hi-Y, men's service organization. He also attended Taft College prior to entering into the service.

Airman 2nd Class Dennis Wright was assigned to 34TH TACTICAL FIGHTER SQUADRON, 388TH TACTICAL FIGHTER WING, 7TH AIR FORCE at the Korat Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand. A2C Wright had volunteered to work a week in Da Nang, South Vietnam to make repairs on jets. The group was to leave on Monday, but had finished their work early so they could return to their home base on Saturday. The C-47 military transport aircraft that A2C Wright and his group were aboard took off from the airport at Saigon. Shortly after takeoff the aircraft crashed killing all on board. He had been in the Air Force for 18 months.

Many who remembered Dennis Wright said that he was a "nice fellow" and that he was "one of the most likable persons you would want to know."

Christian Science services were rendered by Chaplain JB in the Erickson & Brown Chapel and full military honors were paid to A2C Dennis Paul Wright at the West Side District Cemetery in Taft, California.

Rest well with the angels Den.
