Jack Adrian Taylor, 85, of Frankfort, Ind., died Jan. 21, 2010, at his home.

He was born on August 2, 1924, in Newburgh, Ind., the son of John William and Minnie Ann (Risley) Taylor. He was married to Loraine Cutsinger from 1951 to 1953. He was married to Shirley A. Taylor from 1964 to 1990.

Jack Adrian Taylor was a graduate of Evansville Bosse High School. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps from March 1943 to November 1945, he served during World War II in the Pacific. Mr. Taylor had lived in Evansville, Ind., Chula Vista, Calif., Indianapolis and since 1978 in Frankfort, Ind. Mr. Taylor was a former part owner and founder of Armcore Railroad Contractors, retiring in 1988. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine since 1960 and formerly a member of the Moose, Elks and Frankfort Country Club. As a life member of the VFW, he worked diligently to reunite his fellow Marines for annual retreats.

He is survived by four daughters, Lynda and her husband, Truman Congleton, of Beattyville, Ky., Jacquelyn Ann Taylor Wheeler, Indianapolis, Susan and her husband, Todd Snyder, of Kirklin, Ind., and Jennifer and her husband, James Rider, of Kirksville, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his only sibling, his sister, Anita Taylor Schelhorn.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Frankfort, Ind. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 26, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown, Ind. Memorial donations may be made to the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW). Online condolences may be made at goodwinfuneralhome.com.
