Pvt. Scott Carnal served with Co. K 79th United States Colored Troops (All Black Regiment ) during the Civil War of 1861-65
After the Civil War he came to work in the Mines of Nevada were the color of ones skin was no problem. Then some time around 1879 he became the town Barber and was at that trade he worked at until his Death on Dec. 9th 1918 of the Spanish Flu during the great epidemic of 1918-19 he was Approx 68 years old. He thought he was born in 1840 but being born a slave he was never sure.
