The original marriage register in Lapeer County Clerk's office reads: "This certifies that Mr. Alex Braidwood, aged 28 of Bruce, Macomb Co. & Mary Millikin aged 19 of Almont, Lapeer Co. were married in Romeo at Nathan Dickinsons, March 5th 1847 in the presence of Thos. Morton & Jas. Millikin by R.R. Kellogg, Pastor of the Romeo Cong. Church"
They farmed in Almont's Scotch Settlement community.
