The son of Jose Maria Gil of Madrid, Spain & Maria Antonia Avila Linares, native (Calif.) Salinan Indian girl, "Tito" was my husband's maternal gr.grandfather, died young of Typhoid Fever in 1928. Bob never got to meet him as this was 20 years before Bob was born. "Tito" married in 1903 to Balbina Yates, daughter of Abraham Yates & Medarda Verdugo.
