Emanuel Alexader Mullikin was born in South Carolina, to William Edwin and Martha Ford Mullikin. The family moved to Mississippi, and he attended school there. He was in the Civil War in the CSA, Company F., Blackland Gideonites. His unit was captured by the North, and he was trasported, with his brother, Leander Wilson Mullikin, to Camp Morton, Indianapolis, Ind. They were in a Prisoner of War exchange, and they again served the South until 1864. He married Edna M. Geno Feagin, whose husband had died while a Prisoner of War at Camp Morton, Indiana. Emanuel & Edna were married in Tippah County, Mississippi on August 1, 1875. He and Edna had one child, William Edward Mullikin. We do not have present knowledge of what happened to Edna but are researching it now. Emanuel remarried, December 9, 1868 to Margaret Elizabeth Morgan at Tippah County, Mississippi. They had three children, John Norman Mullikin, Rufus Kendrick Mullikin and Agnes Allie Mullikin. The family eventaully settled around Star City,
Arkansas in a little place called Feenyville. Emanuel farmed, and served Star City as mayor for one year. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. In 1899, he died as the result of a horse kicking him. The family land remains in the family to this day.
