Helen, who liked to be called Dutchy, moved to Albany, New York from Far Rockaway, after the death of her father. She went to work for Bell Telephone in the early forties and retired from there in 1989. She married Wally Knopka, March 17, 1950, and raised three children, Bruce, Gale and Kim. Dutchy had a passion for buying things for people and was considered one of the most generous and caring individuals on the face of the earth. Dutchy liked to get in her car and see how far she could travel without hitting a main road. She once asked me if I would like to go to the store with her and I said yes. We started out for the store in Colonie, N.Y. and ended up on Hogback Mountain, Vermont. I had a great day and never did get to the store. Thanks for the ride, Dutchy, you Tiger you.
