Maudie Lee Landrum was born to Susan Ann Pierce and Joseph G. LANDRUM in Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory. {Now Oklahoma}
She was the third child of this couple. Jim born 1882 and Maggie 1886 in TX, the family then came into the Choctaw nation where Maudie was born 6 Oct 1891. Joseph G. filed homestead in Oct 1891 in what is now Pottawatomie County, OK. The family moved there in the fall of 1891. Joseph died on the homestead in 1892 and Susan and her family were living in Creek County by 1907. Maudie married Maton Hale Thompson 13 December 1907. Maton and Maudie returned to the Hanna, McIntosh, OK area where Maton worked in the oil fields. Here two of their sons Lawrence Leo born in 1909 and Markie Maton was born 30 September 1910. Hoping to make more money as a teamster, the family moved back to Kiefer, Creek, OK and here their third son Virdie Vallis 'Curly' was born 19 January 1912. Maudie picked a blemish on her face with a pin and infection set in. She died 18 April 1912. Leaving Maton Hale and her three small sons as survivors. She is buried in the Twin Mounds Cemetery in Tulsa County, OK. Across the road from Kiefer, Creek County, OK where she died.
