Rebecca Hunt Jenson returned to our Heavenly Father quietly on June 11, 2000, at a place she loved; the place of her birth in South Jordan, Utah, following a courageous battle with metastatic kidney cancer.
Born on Dec. 2, 1928 in South Jordan, to wonderful parents, Albert James and Florence Cooke Hunt.
Rebecca graduated from Jordan High School in 1948 where she earned the name "Muscles" while on the undefeated volleyball team. Rebecca spent many years raising her beloved children. She was a devoted mother who lived her life for her children. In her later years, she was employed at ZCMI. She was a lifelong and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She devoted many years to church service. Served many years as a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple. She had a strong testimony of the Savior and His gospel. She had a valiant spirit and remained strong in her beliefs throughout her life and will be remembered as a kind-hearted, compassionate, humble and charitable person, whose service to others remains as her greatest legacy. A highlight in Rebecca's life was taking her mother, Florence, back to England after an absence of 50 years. Rebecca was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved music, theater, the performing arts, gardening, animals and travel and, most of all, spending time with her children.
Thank you mom, you are our friend, hero, and example. We will live according to the values you exemplified so well.
