E. Charles arrived in America in November 1901 at an age of 18 to work at the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia employed as a Pattern Maker. In 1907 He married Rosa Teuchert and they had a family of seven children. Before 1910 they moved to Secane, then Milmont Park where they made their permanent residence.By this time the locomitive Works moved to Eddystone Del. Co.He was always called by his middle name Charles. He led a very active 76 yr life in this country.While working for The Baldwin Locomotive Co.In his early years he owned the Ridley Radio Shop in Norwood Pa,a Real Estate & Insurance Business and was postmaster of Milmont Park in the early 30s.In his political life he was chairman of the Ridley Twp democrat party.He was Twp commissioner from 1948 to 1952. He managed a baseball team called the Forrest AC in 1920.He served as a boy scout leader for over 50 years and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award in 1963.A charter member of the Milmont Fire Co.He was a founder of the Ridley Park Heights and the Baldwin Building & loan which later became County Savings.He liked to play pinochle and the sport of bowling and his hobby being photography.
