Mary C., Sixth Child of Six. Third Daughter of Jacob Jr. & Nancy C. (Brickey) Bird.
Sister of John, Amelia, Nancy, Thomas, Jane (Baker) and William Bird.

Second Wife of Thomas Marion Gasaway, whom she married in 1868 in Walker county, Georgia.

Mother of Five Children, Ida Mae (Gottberg), Mattie C. (Huggins), David, Levi, & Walter Gasaway.
Step-Mother and Aunt to Thomas's Children of his First Marriage to her sister Amelia who are, Nancy Ellen, Samuel J., Louisa Jennie and Millie Gasaway.

Mary and Thomas moved with members of the Bird family by Train in 1869 to Dardanelle, Arkansas, then Mary and Thomas moved to Oklahoma.

After the death of Thomas in Oklahoma, her brother John Bird went (by Wagon) and got Mary and her children and she moved back to Petit Jean Mountain, Arkansas where she made her home until her death.
Her property is now a part of Petit Jean Mountain State Park and the Tennis Courts are now where her home used to be.

**Date of Birth on the United States Federal Census of 1900 indicates a Birth on June 1845, don't understand why the Grave Marker has January 27, 1850.**
