Betty was born September 9, 1920 in Livingston, the daughter of Otto and Esta (Thomas)Perkins. She attended Livingston schools, graduating from Park County High school in 1938. In 1946, she married Curtis Clark Beatty in Livingston. They lived in California for 15 years before returning to Livingston in 1961. The Beatty family operated Beatty Cycle Shop until Mr. Beatty's death in 1964. Betty then worked as a bookkeeper and secretary and at various other jobs in order to provide for her children. She was an inspiration to her family and friends for her hard work ethic and uncomplaining attitude amidst trying circumstances following her husband's untimely death. In 1976, she married Claude Francis in Livingston. They lived happily until his death in 1979. Betty continued to work as a secretary for Grace United Methodist Church until retirement in 1990. In 1991 she married Carl Haemig in Livingston, another union for which her family was eternally grateful. Betty enjoyed a stable and loving life with Carl until her passing.

Betty greatly enjoyed poetry, knitting, bowling, singing in the church choir, flowers, and time spent with her family. She also enjoyed playing the piano for her own "amusement." Betty was admired for her patriotism, her love and devotion to the Lord, and for the love she continually showed in sending cards and little gifts to others.

In addition to her parents, and her first two husbands, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved son, Douglas Beatty; a brother, Dale Snavely; and sisters Dorothy Perkins, Thelma Briggs, Alma Lavergne and Ruth Deyong. Betty also had an infant sister and twin infant brothers who preceded her in death. Betty was the last surviving sibling from her family.
