Otis Hugh Bolden was born December 26, 1911 to Jasper Cicero Bolden and Florence Beauchamp Bolden. On March 19, 1932, he married Lillie Ann Smith. Together, they had seven children, five of whom grew to adulthood. Daughter Shirley died as an infant, and daughter Sarah died at the age of six when her clothing caught on fire near the fireplace. Otis died October 27, 1964 when a tar kiln exploded while he was tarring a roof.
