The son of George Raymond Fickies & Inez Beebe. Beloved husband of Kathryn Franklin, and father of Robert, Catherine, and Mary.

A veteran of World War II, Howard served with the U.S. Army from 1939 to 1945. He served in the U.S Naval Reserve, Submarine Service during the Korean War.

His name is engraved on the Sand Lake NY, Veterans' Memorial Wall.
