Ben Franklin was the son of Isaac W. Franklin & Clara Thomason. He was the husband of Catherine Murphy. They were blessed with six children; Marie, Kathryn, Irene, Benjamin, Patricia, and William.

He served in US Army Expeditionary Forces in Europe in WWI. He was a police officer in Brooklyn, NY (62nd Pct. NYPD shield 9991) from 1920 to 1948.

He and his wife retired to Lackawaxen, Pike County, PA in 1949, where he served as Constable for many years. Ben & Kitty owned and operated the "Bay Ridge Snack Bar" in Lackawaxen.

Ben Franklin had an NYPD Honor Guard at his funeral in 1977
